About the Opportunity

William Clarke College is seeking a dynamic and experienced Christian Co-ordinator of Counselling Services (P-12) who will lead the Counselling Team in supporting student wellbeing at the College. Reporting to the Deputy Head, the Co-ordinator of Counselling Services (P-12) is responsible for overseeing the counselling and psychological services offered to students and their families from Preparatory to Year 12.

Key responsibilities include managing and monitoring the delivery of counselling services across the College, providing direct counselling to students, offering support to families, leading and supporting a dynamic counselling team, conducting psycho-educational assessments, helping families navigate educational decisions for their children, identifying barriers to students’ learning and collaborating with external agencies to support student wellbeing.

This is a Permanent, Full-Time (Term Time Only) position.

About You

  • University qualifications in Psychology
  • Registration as a Psychologist and member of AHPRA
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Psychologist or Counsellor. Experience in a school setting will be highly regarded
  • A strong understanding of current practice as it relates to student care and managing social and emotional concerns
  • Outstanding knowledge of, and proven skills in leadership, psychological and/or academic assessment and high-quality student care
  • Christ-centred Psychologist or Counsellor who is a regular practicing member of a Christian church
  • A relational thinker who can demonstrate strong leadership, who is approachable, a good listener and an effective communicator
  • The ability to empathise and collaborate with all stakeholders
  • A leader of integrity who maintains high standards, while demonstrating high levels of support and accountability
  • Skilful in leading a dynamic staff team and in addressing the needs of multiple stakeholders across the College
  • The successful candidate will be required to hold or be willing to obtain a valid Working with Children Check in accordance with Child Protection legislation
