The Position

The role of Junior School Teacher (K-6) is a rewarding opportunity to inspire our young students by designing and delivering innovative teaching programs to facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement in the classroom and beyond.

Key priorities for the role also include:

  • Teach and aspire to the standards articulated in the Wenona Effective Teaching Cycle in collaboration with our team of professional educators.
  • Planning and implementing authentic assessments that informs teaching and learning.
  • Nurturing each individual by supporting the social and emotional wellbeing needs of young students.
  • Collaborating and contributing to a team and faculty of professional educators.
  • Utilising ICT to facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement beyond the classroom.

This role is looking to commence from the beginning of Term 3, 2025, and we are open to both Permanent and Temporary applicants.

About You

To be successful in this role you will be passionate about education and creative and adaptable in your approach as you support and engage each child. You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with and build strong positive relationships with members of the school community including other staff, students and parents. You will be committed to the continual improvement of your teaching practice and receptive to opportunities for personal and professional development and be committed to supporting the values of Wenona as you undertake your role. Experience with the International Baccalaureate and Primary Years Program philosophy and pedagogy would be advantageous.
