Wenona is seeking a passionate and experienced History teacher to join our History Department.  You will inspire our young women through dynamic classroom practice, refined professional knowledge and a commitment to high performance.

The Position

  • Teaching and aspiring to the standards articulated in the Wenona Effective Teaching Cycle in collaboration with our team of professional educators.
  • Providing pastoral care and meeting the social and emotional wellbeing needs of our students.
  • Facilitating and enriching student learning and engagement in the classroom and beyond.
  • Engaging in professional learning, including contributing to the broader education community.
  • Collaborating and contributing to a team and faculty of professional educators.
  • Utilising ICT to facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement beyond the classroom.

We are seeking a permanent a full-time position, but also open to part-time.

This role will commence Term 1, 2025.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be highly qualified with experience in teaching the History subject across Years 7-12 and strong working knowledge of NESA curriculum and HSC assessment practices and marking processes. You will have experience in teaching, or be willing to teach History Extension. You will be solutions-focused, flexible and have excellent communication skills with an ability to engage and communicate with various stakeholders. You will be capable of working collaboratively within a team environment and be committed to supporting the values of Wenona as you undertake your role.
