Senior School STEM Leader

The College has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and committed Senior School teacher with experience or interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) to start at the beginning of 2025. The successful applicant will be appropriately qualified and ready to work within a professional and cohesive team. This is an incredible opportunity to also work in our brand-new STEM centre which will open at the start of the year. The new building will include state of the art classrooms and facilities as well as access to innovative resources.

Key Selection Criteria

the successful applicant for the above position must be able to provide evidence to support the following criteria:

  • Strong personal Christian faith and be a regular and practising member of a Bible-based Christian Church.
  • Evidence of innovative classroom practices that are effective with senior school students.
  • A high standard of competency and proficiency as a classroom teacher.
  • Experience in teaching Science or Technology and Applied Studies (TAS), with a focus on STEM, Computing, Timber or Design and Technology.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the integration of technology in the delivery of learning and how this supports the development of learning for students in this age group.
  • Experience in organising extracurricular STEM activities, including competitions, workshops, and clubs, to enhance students’ engagement and interest in STEM fields.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how students learn and effective classroom teaching strategies and the capacity to work with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills, critical analysis, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Secondary Teaching qualifications in Science or Technology and Applied Studies NESA accreditation.
  • Ability to teach STEM, Computing, Timber and/or Design and Technology is an advantage.

  • Resume outlining teaching, leadership and other experience relevant to the position
  • A statement of educational philosophy
  • Written response addressing the Key Selection Criteria in a maximum of 2 pages
  • Valid NSW Working with Children details (WWCC)
