TEMPORARY PART-TIME FOOD TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANT

Position to cover Term 1 to Term 4 2025

St Vincent’s College, Potts Point are seeking to appoint a Temporary Food Technology Assistant for 2025.

This part-time position has responsibility for the organisation, ordering and preparation of ingredients for practical teaching and learning in food preparation and for the maintenance of the kitchen and all equipment and resources that support good and efficient teaching in this area.

The assistant works closely with Food Technology teachers to plan, prepare for and deliver safe, effective and stimulating practical learning in food preparation and presentation.

The successful candidate will have a background in food preparation or associated areas. They will work with a supportive team of teachers in an area with well-established protocols and resources. A high degree of efficiency and attention to detail are necessary for this work.  A Working with Children check is a requirement of this position.

The working hours of the position are relatively flexible but dependent on the placement of practical lessons.

Key position criteria

Appropriate food handling certificate.
First Aid and Anaphylaxis training.
Up to date Working with Children Check.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to work collaboratively
Awareness of safe work practices required in a Food Technology Classroom.
Competency with using Internet, Emails, Excel and Word, experience with, or willingness to learn, Google Drive operations.
