Position & Purpose
Snowy Mountains Grammar School is seeking to appoint a Head of Faculty, Mathematics, within our Middle/Senior School. The Head of Faculty plays a key role in upholding the academic culture and traditions of the School so that they are respected, valued and further enriched by students.
This Middle Leadership role involves both strategic and operational leadership of the Mathematics Faculty. The Head of Faculty is required to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge across a broad range of curriculum matters, be an accomplished and effective classroom practitioner, and possess deep subject expertise. The Head of Faculty is expected to lead by example and actively support colleagues in improving their own practice. The Head of Faculty is required to comply with all relevant internal and external curriculum-related policies and procedures and maintain a clear strategic vision to enhance teaching and learning within the faculty. Developing and maintaining highly effective relationships with students, teachers and parents/ carers is crucial for this role.
This Head of Faculty is required to be caring, empathetic, compassionate, supportive, collegial and collaborative, communicative, demonstrate integrity and honesty, maintain confidentiality, use prudence and discretion, be efficient and accurate, remain open to different perspectives and have a growth mindset, and be resilient. Modelling these attributes to students and staff members is also imperative to develop a positive culture at Snowy Mountains Grammar School.

Role: Head of Faculty, Mathematics
Term: Full-time permanent middle leadership position for a fixed term of up to five (5) years with the potential to extend
Commencement: Term 3, 2025 or by negotiation
Reports to: Head of Teaching and Learning

Qualifications, Experience and Essentials
• NESA accreditation and relevant tertiary qualifications
• Experience in Stage 6 Mathematics Standard or Advanced
• Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
• Meet the ongoing requirements of a WWCC, NSW
• Adhering to the Child Protection Policy and School Code of Conduct
