Agriculture Teacher

Scots All Saints College (Bathurst) is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Agriculture Teacher to teach Stage 4 Technology Mandatory, Stage 5 Agricultural Technology and Stage 6 Primary Industries or Agriculture.  This is a permanent, full-time role commencing in Term 1 2026.

Scots All Saints College is an independent, multi-campus Preparatory-12 co-educational day and boarding school of 900 students located in Bathurst, Central West NSW.  The College is a school of the Presbyterian Church of Australia and provides unparalleled space and learning opportunities in an environment where students can develop academically, culturally, socially and spiritually. The College has a 28ha working farm with excellent facilities along with stud stock (cattle and sheep) which are fully integrated into the teaching programs. Both Cattle and Sheep show teams are an important part of the co-curricular program of the College.

·         Current accreditation with NESA

Essential Professional Criteria

·         The Bachelor of Teaching Degree (Secondary) with a specialisation in Agriculture and demonstrated high levels of classroom competence

·         Trained to teach Primary Industries or a willingness to be trained

·         Knowledge of NSW Agriculture curriculum or equivalent

·         A high standard of organisational and time management skills

·         Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and proven ability to relate to staff, students and parents

 

Desirable Professional Criteria

·         Experience teaching to HSC level or equivalent

·         An ability to integrate and utilise ICT effectively within the classroom

·         Practical background/experience in agriculture/farming

·         Experience in exhibition/showing of livestock and the willingness to become fully involved in the co-curricular programs offered by the Agriculture department (show teams)

·         Knowledge of other curriculum areas e.g. Science etc.

·         Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain constructive working relationships at all levels across diverse groups, including teaching and non-teaching staff.

·         Ability to work collaboratively with all members of staff

·         Demonstrate a high degree of discretion, initiative and personal organisation.
