We are looking for an outstanding Science Laboratory Assistant to join the team at Scone Grammar School.
Maximum term | Part-time
Contract commencing Term 1, 28 January and concluding 26 June 2026
About the role:
The Science Laboratory Assistant plays a key role in supporting the science department and enhancing student learning. This position assists teachers in delivering high-quality science education by preparing resources across chemistry, biology, physics, and general science.

Your skills and experience:
-Experience in lesson preparation and setting up of equipment and chemicals
-Ordering of resources
-Maintenance of risk assessments with teachers
-Demonstrated knowledge of WHS regulations and chemical safety in an educational or laboratory setting.
-Competency with ICT relevant to laboratory operations and record-keeping.
-Strong organisational and time-management skills.
-Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Desirable:
-Proficient in the use of Chemwatch and Risk Assess
Essential:
-Relevant qualifications in laboratory operations, a related field OR working towards
-National Criminal History Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes).
-NSW Working with Children Check
-Applicants will be screened for appropriate child protection purposes as we are a Child Safe School.
