We are seeking a part time (term time) permanent Catering Assistant to work in our Café commencing at the beginning of 2025. This position is two days a week, Thursdays and Fridays, 7.30am – 2.15pm, with flexibility to cover staff on other days if required.
Applications are invited from Catering Assistants with relevant experience as a Barista. Baking experience would also be advantageous. Christians who are actively involved in a church are particularly encouraged to apply.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Catering Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the College’s Grove Café as well as supporting the catering services provided by the College.
Responsibilities include:
- Work as part of a collaborative team.
- Maintain Food Safety & WHS Standards at all times.
- Provide Barista services for staff and senior students.
- Prepare, display and serve food.
- Keep the café organised and clean during the day.
- Undertake a thorough clean of the café at the end of the day.
- Notify the Catering Supervisor in regard to supplies needs.
- Assist the College’s catering team in delivering their services.
- Accurately record sales and follow cash handling procedures.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Canteen Manager.
Essential Criteria:
- Food Safe Handling Certificate (or equivalent).
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Experience working as a Barista.
The Contract
The successful applicant will be employed under the Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational Staff) Multi Enterprise Agreement (MEA). The MEA outlines employee salaries and their employment rights and responsibilities.
