Rouse Hill Anglican College (RHAC) is a growing and well regarded independent co-educational Christian school with over 1,600 students from Pre-K to Year 12. Preferred Candidates
The ideal candidate will be:
· a Christian who:
- has formal theological qualifications and a strong understanding of, and personal commitment to, the doctrines and teachings of the Anglican Church, Diocese of Sydney.
- is actively and consistently involved in a church whose theology is consistent with the Sydney Anglican Church.
- is committed to personal prayer and Bible reading.
- has skills and experience teaching the Bible to primary school aged children.
· a qualified primary school teacher with the equivalent of 5+ years full-time teaching experience.
· experienced leading a team.
· experienced in developing and coordinating student wellbeing initiatives.
· skilled in directly managing challenging student behaviour and responding to student well-being needs.
· able to support and advise teachers in relation to the social, emotional, spiritual and behavioural needs of Pre-K to Year 6 students.
· capable of effectively working with parents in relation to identified well-being needs of their children.
· committed to RHAC’s 5 teaching and learning principles.

The Role
This exciting employment opportunity has come about with the retirement of our current Junior School Chaplain and Head of Well-Being. Key duties will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate. They are likely to include:
· overseeing, and helping to effectively resource, the Christian education teaching programs.
· working with the Junior School executive team and the Principal to continuously improve all aspects of Christian education in the Junior School.
· leading the chapel program, including conducting most weekly chapel services.
· ensuring that key student well-being related policies and procedures e.g. discipline and anti-bullying are effectively implemented and reviewed for their efficacy.
· supporting teachers to manage student well-being and conduct issues.
· taking direct responsibility for more serious or complex student well-being and behaviour issues.
· keeping timely and accurate records of student well-being matters.
If the successful candidate meets all of the ideal criteria, s/he is unlikely to be allocated a regular classroom teaching load, although may teach a small number of Christian education lessons if the need arises. Over the course of a typical fortnight, it is likely that roughly 60% of the appointee’s time will be dedicated to student well-being and 40% to Christian education.
The Contract
Assuming the appointee meets all of the above-mentioned criteria, s/he will:
· be a member of the RHAC executive leadership team.
· attract a Leadership Level 3 allowance under the applicable Standards Model Multi Enterprise Agreement (MEA) in addition to their base salary.
Adjustments to the leadership allowance and teaching allocation the College is offering may be made in relation to the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience.

The College implements the Child Safe Standards developed by the Office of the Children’s Guardian. All College staff receive annual training in Child Protection.
