Working closely with the Head of Junior School and a key member of the Junior School Leadership Team, the Director of Primary (Years 3 to Year 6) will be an accomplished leader, with an ability to engage wholeheartedly and authentically with our community. They will provide inspirational leadership, vision and direction within the context of the Junior School.
The opportunity
The Director of Primary (Years 3 to Year 6) will work in close partnership with the Head of Junior School and Junior School Leadership Team to deliver the next Radford Strategic Plan. This pivotal role combines strategic and operational leadership with a strong focus on culture, care and continuous improvement across the School.
The role of Director of Primary (Years 3 to Year 6) is a significant leadership role. The Director of Primary (Years 3 to Year 6) is entrusted with delivery of high-quality teaching and learning, character education and strong pastoral care and the day-to-day operations of Primary (Years 3 to Year 6).
About the role
The Director of Primary (Year 3 to Year 6) supports the Head of Junior School, in the efficient and effective management of Year 3 to Year 6 Junior School operations. A primary focus of this role is the pastoral care of students, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that fosters their wellbeing. This role involves collaborating with staff to enhance student outcomes in wellbeing and learning. A comprehensive understanding of contemporary pastoral care practices, character education and the ability to lead and inspire staff in implementing a strong wellbeing ethos are essential.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Providing strategic and operational leadership as a key member of the Junior School Leadership Team.
Leading and managing teams responsible for pastoral care, co-curricular programs, and various operational functions across the Primary (Year 3 to Year 6).
Developing and implementing initiatives that promote student wellbeing, resilience, and positive behaviour from Year 3 to Year 6.
Ensuring the College’s Christian values are embedded and celebrated within the school culture.
Collaborating with the Junior School Director of Learning and Teaching (Years 3 to Year 6) to ensure alignment between pastoral, co-curricular, and academic programs.
Fostering a culture of strong relationships and effective communication within the College community.
Contributing to the College’s strategic planning, policy development, and overall governance.
Commitment to the safeguarding and promotion of student welfare.

· Bachelor of Education
· Master of Educational Leadership, desirable
