About the Role:
PLC Sydney is seeking a highly organised and dedicated individual to join our team as Boarding Operations Manager on a full-time, temporary basis, commencing Term 3, 2025. This vital role supports the Director of Boarding in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the boarding house, contributing to a safe, positive, and enriching experience for all our boarders.
The Boarding House operates 24/7 during term time and evening and sleepover duties are required as part of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day functions of the boarding house, including record-keeping, communication, and logistical coordination.
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of boarding house activities, events and excursions.
- Assist with the welfare and pastoral care of boarders, ensuring their needs are met and providing support as required.
- Coordinate with internal departments (e.g. catering, maintenance, health centre) to ensure seamless service delivery within the boarding house.
- Manage boarding house resources, including inventory, supplies, and facility requirements.
Skills and Expectations:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong written communication
- Demonstrated high-level organisational and prioritisation skills
- Proficient computer literacy
- Upholding strict confidentiality
- Current Certificate in Duty of Care (Australian Boarding Schools Association – ABSA)
- Current First Aid qualifications including anaphylaxis and asthma training, Mental Health First Aid
- Current Australian Driver’s License.
