Skills & Qualifications
- The ability to model Christian ethics and activity
- Hold recognised tertiary qualifications in Education, Teaching and English Literature.
- Demonstrate knowledge, competence and confidence in the Stage 4-6 English syllabus.
- Experience in teaching Stage 4-6, with Stage 6 Advanced experience an advantage.
- Well developed teaching skills, with the ability to differentiate learning to cater to a range of student abilities and needs.
- A commitment to ongoing professional learning and the pursuit of excellence.
- Work collaboratively, collegially and independently to meet personal goals within a team framework.
- Flexibility and openness to new concepts, texts and ways of delivering content.
- Prepared to follow the NESA syllabus, faculty scope and sequence, create programs, and plan lessons accordingly.
- Assessing, recording and maintaining student achievement during the year and preparing reports on student progress.
- Develop positive, supportive classroom environments that are conducive to learning.
- Ability to use technology with confidence and competence.
- Attend briefing sessions, Secondary staff meetings, Faculty meetings as required.
- Demonstrated history of professional conduct in the classroom, school environment and in a personal capacity.
- All positions involve working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including a valid Working with Children Check.
