Defence Mentor

Nowra Anglican College seeks an organised and caring Defence Mentor to provide support to the families of Defence Personnel in the College. The Defence School Transition Aide Program provides support to students of Australian Defence Force (ADF) members and their families, particularly during their transition into and out of a school on posting or during parental absences due to deployment, exercises or courses.

We are looking for a person with a  Christian faith, active in their local church who can design and implement wellbeing programs, provide individual support, communicate effectively and form part of a team to support successful learning outcomes for students.

Defence School Mentors are funded by the Department of Defence through the Defence Community Organisation and are employed as a member of the school staff by respective schools or education systems within each State or Territory.

Experience in education and pastoral care will be viewed highly.

Position Details:

This is a temporary part time 0.6 fte (term time) 12 months contract.

The position is subject to ongoing grant funding.

Salary for this position is under the Independent School NSW CMEA 2025 (Wellbeing Service- Non graduate Employee 1.1 )

Days and hours are flexible with 0.6 fte over 3 days or  can be spread over 4 days.
