Moriah College is a co-educational Early Learning – Year 12 Jewish Day School based in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. The College has earned an outstanding reputation for academic excellence complimented by dynamic co- and extra-curricular programs.

Commencing in Term 3 2025, Moriah College is looking for experienced and passionate individuals to join the Education Support team as a Teacher’s Aide in the High School.

These positions will be appointed for a maximum term during term time only, ending in the 2025 academic year.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with children from 12 – 18 years of age who present with a range of educational needs and diagnosed or imputed disabilities.
  • Proactively support specific students or small groups of students to facilitate and promote participation in learning and contribution to class activities.
  • Be involved in the life of the school and develop positive relationships with staff, students, and families to assist with the building of a ‘community’ that recognises and celebrates diversity.
  • Assist students with high support needs in their learning program and life skills throughout the school day.
    Assist students in their transition around the school and in the classroom.
  • Support student learning and encourage social integration both in and out of the classroom.
  • Help deliver and support the learning adjustments made for individual students.
  • Meet the physical demand of the position which may include kneeling, stooping, lifting, feeding, assistance with personal hygiene/grooming, toileting.
  • Display discretion, confidentiality, honesty, and integrity in relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the wider community.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Certificate III or IV in School Based Education Support or equivalent experience desirable.
  • Experience working in a school environment.
  • Experience in a related field working with individuals with educational needs and diagnosed or imputed disabilities advantageous.
  • Have the proven ability to support a diversity of learners under the supervision and direction of teachers.
  • Experience in an education setting.
  • Experience with behaviour management.
  • Have demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
  • Be a service orientated individual who shows initiative.
  • Show demonstrated computer skills, including basic word processing.
  • Have excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain.
  • Valid working with Children Check.
