An exciting opportunity has become available for a Level 3 Infrastructure Engineer to join the IT department full time. Providing end user support for Mac and Windows systems in our School. Reporting directly to the Head of IT, this position presents an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong technical background and a genuine passion for supporting and enhancing the use of technology in an educational environment. The role encompasses assisting students, staff, and parents in utilizing technology effectively, thereby contributing to an improved educational experience for all stakeholders.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
User & Group Management:
Manage Active Directory
Google Workspace
Office365 administration (Teams, Exchange Online, Azure Active Directory, Compliance, Security, SharePoint, Intune for Education)

Windows Server Management
DNS
DHCP
File server
Print server
RADIUS
Certificate Server
Automation tools: ManageEngine Patch Manager, ADManager
Helpdesk: ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus

Windows/MAC End User Device
Manage Windows Endpoint using Intune including app management and customization and work with Mac Admin to support Apple devices

Security & Endpoint protection
Malwarebytes and Crowdstrike
Implementing network security policies
Identifying threats and working on steps to defend against them
Upgrade agent on regular interval

Email security
In-depth knowledge of email security (DKIM, SPF, DMARC). Knowledge of Barracuda Email Security Gateway is highly desirable)

Firewall/Wireless/Campus networking
In-depth knowledge of IP addressing, VLAN, HP campus switch configuration & management, routing, Firewall rules and Wireless AP management

Vmware/NetApp
Maintain ESXI hosts and vCenter, deploy VMs and raise support request with vendors if required

Cohesity DR/Backup
Manage DR, Backup and restore as per requirement (Training will be provided)

Telephony
Working knowledge of Avaya telephony system and work with service provider

Helpdesk
Respond to and resolve help desk requests
Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed

Problem solving
Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, application, networking and system issues when they arise.

Selection Criteria:

  • Experience working with students in support and/or teaching capacity
  • Previous experience as a Level 3 Engineer
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to be pro-active in improving processes and posses a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Demonstrated previous experience infrastructure and customer service role
  • Have a proven ability to manage infrastructure projects
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Skilled at problem-solving, being able to identify/resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset; always looking for opportunities for enhancement of processes or procedures.
