MLC School is seeking a dynamic and passionate Assistant Director of Sport to join our vibrant sports department. This full-time, permanent role is an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver a diverse, high-quality sports program for students from Pre-K to Year 12, in line with our mission to educate and inspire young women to be fearless thinkers with moral courage and compassion.
About the Role
Working closely with the Director of Sport, you will:
- Oversee the daily operations of the school’s sports program, including carnivals, representative pathways, and facility management.
- Coordinate logistics, scheduling, and risk management for sporting activities and events.
- Lead and mentor sports department staff, coaches, and heads of programs.
- Foster a culture of lifelong fitness, personal excellence, and school pride.
- Represent MLC School at IGSA and IPSHA events, meetings, and competitions.
- Support marketing and promotional efforts to encourage student participation in sport.
- Attend and support Friday night, Saturday, and other weekend sporting events.
What We’re Looking For
- Tertiary qualifications in sports management, sports administration, education, or a related field.
- At least 5 years’ experience in an educational or sporting environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and a thorough knowledge of school sport, including IPSHA and IGSSA.
- Strong administration skills, with proficiency in Excel and web applications.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills.
- A commitment to girls’ education and the values of MLC School and the Uniting Church.
- Flexibility to work across a range of hours, including weekends and evenings.
Desirable: Sports coaching qualifications, First Aid and CPR certification, and experience with Apple devices and Microsoft Office.
