About the Opportunity
We are seeking applications for a dynamic and innovative leader for the position of Head of Library. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering programs that support teaching and learning and enrich the learning experience for students across Years 5–12. This role leads the development and management of the Library’s strategic plan, oversees daily operations, and collaborates with teaching staff to support the School’s educational goals.
- Develop, manage, and oversee the Library’s strategic plan and operational procedures.
- Lead the development of the Library services team, fostering professional growth and providing actionable feedback.
- Design and deliver a sequenced Academic Integrity and Research Skills program for Years 5–12.
- Implement emerging technologies and innovative pedagogies to support teaching and learning.
- Coordinate and oversee the Academic Coaching Program for Years 7–12.
- Develop and implement reading and literacy initiatives across the school
- Curate and develop the Library’s physical and digital collections to reflect diverse student interests and abilities.
- Support teachers in delivering student-centred learning experiences.
The Ideal Candidate
- Relevant education qualifications, NESA accreditation and/or Teacher Librarian qualification (Master’s level preferred).
- Experience in Library management and leadership preferrable
- Strong understanding of Library practices, NSW curriculum, and emerging pedagogical trends.
- Ability to work well independently, be self-motivated and take initiative.
- Highly organised and have the ability to engage and communicate with all members of staff, students and parents.
- Demonstrate commitment to the values of a Catholic school in the tradition of Mary Ward, supporting and contributing to the development of the School’s values and culture.
