This is an opportunity for a passionate PDHPE teacher to join a progressive and supportive school community. The successful candidate will be passionate about providing inquiry-based learning and be an engaging and effective classroom practitioner whose knowledge, skills and passion for PDHPE will inspire students to engage deeply in this important subject.

Terms and conditions of employment
This position is a permanent role of 0.8-1.0 FTE, covered within the NSW Independent Schools (Teaching Staff) MEA Hybrid Model.

Appointment
Commencing Term 1, 2026.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to teach PDHPE (ability to teach another KLA an advantage).
  • Relevant education qualifications including a current NESA accreditation.
  • Experience teaching PDHPE in Primary and High School.
  • Extensive pedagogical knowledge base and understanding
    A variety of effective teaching strategies that engage students of varying abilities.
  • Experience in the design, production and administration of formative and summative assessments tasks.
  • Sound understanding of the learning environments, unit design, lesson plans, use of technology, teaching practices and design of assessment and feedback.
  • Committed to the continual improvement of their teaching practice.
  • Able to motivate students to achieve and to develop a life-long love of learning.

Responsible to
The Principal, Korowal School.

The teacher will meet and work regularly with the K-12 Deputy Principal to ensure coherence and continuity in curriculum delivery within the accepted practices and culture of the school.

Responsibilities

  • The implementation of syllabuses as described in the NSW PDHPE Curriculum.
  • Provide an engaging, vibrant, supportive learning environment, working within the vision of Korowal School.
  • Provide effective feedback to students.
  • Maintenance of programs, registers and work samples.
  • Upholding of our School’s policies and procedures.
  • Playground duties.
  • Attendance at parent/teacher evenings, and other School community events including the annual Fair, student-parent-teacher conferences, annual barbecue and back to school night.

Selection Criteria (these must be addressed in your application) 

The successful applicant will have:

  • An appropriate qualification and current registration with NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) as a PDHPE teacher.
  • A current Working with Children Check registration.
    Experience as an innovative and engaging classroom practitioner.
  • Experience as an innovative and engaging curriculum designer.
  • Capacity to work independently, cooperatively, and with initiative.
  • Evidence of collaboration within the faculty.
  • A willingness to uphold Korowal School’s values and ethos.
