THE ROLE
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Diverse Learning Teacher to join our team at Knox Grammar Preparatory School. This is a permanent full-time role commencing Term 1, 2025.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality support to students with diverse learning needs and will work as a respected member of the team to provide quality learning opportunities for students.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to plan and implement targeted interventions for students with diverse learning needs
- Provide individual and group support to students
- Devise and teach differentiated programs in Reading and Mathematics in small groups
- Develop and implement individual learning plans for students in consultation with parents, classroom teachers and the School’s Diverse Learning Team
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback to parents and classroom teachers.
- Attend relevant professional development activities to maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practice.
- Assist classroom teachers with modifying and adapting their teaching strategies and resources
- Support the school’s NCCD process by contributing to the collection of data and the development of documentation to support students with disabilities.
The successful candidate will have:
- Relevant qualifications in teaching and special education.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and supporting students with disabilities, including those with learning difficulties, ADHD, ASD, and other disabilities.
- Sound knowledge of the NCCD process, and the ability to contribute to the collection of data and the development of documentation to support students with disabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues
- A high level of professionalism and commitment to achieving positive outcomes for students
- Experience in analysing data to inform instruction and measure growth
