Cranbrook School is seeking an outstanding Learning Support Teacher to join our Senior School Learning Support team, commencing Term 2, 2025.

ABOUT THE POSITION

This is a full-time position based at the Senior School campus in Bellevue Hill.

Teachers at Cranbrook take an active and enthusiastic part in the full life of the School, including involvement in the School’s co-curricular program requiring work outside normal teaching hours.

Capable of working collaboratively within a team to plan and deliver high quality differentiated teaching and learning programmes, and possessing an exemplary understanding of best practice, you have proven subject expertise and the ability to teach inclusively across a broad age and ability range.

SELECTION CRITERIA

—     Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience supporting students with diverse needs

—     NESA accreditation to teach in New South Wales

—     Sound knowledge and understanding of the NSW Curriculum, current teaching and learning theory and practices, and the ability to differentiate for learners with diverse needs

—     Capacity to be flexible, resourceful, meet deadlines, and work as part of a collaborative team

—     Experience in the management and implementation of disability provisions

—     Experience in the administration and analysis of standardised and diagnostic assessments to inform individual planning

—     Experience working collaboratively to write and manage Individualised Plans

—     Ability to Identify and implement evidence-based strategies for identified students to improve their learning outcomes, with a focus on literacy and numeracy

—     Knowledge of relevant disability legislation and the NCCD

—     Ability to communicate and collaborate with people at all levels, with diverse backgrounds and of varying ages

—     Capacity to create and support a motivating and engaging learning environment that caters to diverse needs through the use of varied teaching strategies and pedagogical practices

—     A level of mobility that supports the ability to respond to a first aid / behavioural incident

—     Current First Aid and CPR qualifications

—     A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

—     A demonstrated understanding of child safety and appropriate behaviours when engaging with children.
