Are you a passionate and experienced educational leader committed to fostering academic excellence? A fast growing independent school in Grafton is seeking a Director of Learning and Teaching to lead curriculum development, teaching innovation, and student achievement across the school.

About the Role

As the Director of Learning and Teaching, you will play a key role in shaping the school’s educational vision and ensuring high-quality learning experiences for all students. You will work closely with staff, students, and the leadership team to enhance pedagogy, curriculum design, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of innovative teaching and learning strategies.
  • Oversee curriculum planning and assessment across all year levels.
  • Support and mentor teachers to enhance instructional practices and student outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant educational standards and regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in academic achievement and student engagement.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and lifelong learning among staff and students.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Hold or be eligible for NESA accreditation and a Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • A strong background in curriculum leadership and teaching excellence.
  • A deep understanding of contemporary educational research and best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of timetabling processes.
  • Proven experience in staff development and instructional coaching.
  • A commitment to the values and ethos of independent education.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in education and school leadership.
