About the Role
We are seeking an outstanding Director of Co-Curricular Education to join our Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and shape the strategic vision, coherence, and quality of our co-curricular life. The Director leads and oversees CGS Music, Sport, Outdoor Education, and (where included) Clubs and Enrichment programmes, ensuring they are vibrant, inclusive, and aligned to the School’s mission and values. You will be responsible for the strategic development, quality assurance, staffing, and long-term planning of these programmes, ensuring they not only enhance student learning but also foster wellbeing, teamwork, and personal growth.
Working in close partnership with the Heads of Primary and Senior School, the Director will ensure that all co-curricular initiatives are fully integrated with student development, pastoral care, and academic outcomes. The role carries oversight for safety, compliance, partnerships, and business development within the portfolio, ensuring that our co-curricular provision remains innovative, sustainable, and impactful.
About You
You are dedicated, passionate and possess the following:
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with CGS team members
- Demonstrated ability to implement initiatives, deliver projects, and manage change
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication, with the ability to engage, influence, and build constructive relationships
- A clear record of supporting the intellectual, emotional, social, physical, and ethical development of students
- Proven ability to articulate a clear vision, provide strategic direction, and inspire trust and confidence through empathetic and relational leadership, fostering collaboration and shared purpose.
- High professional standards, emotional intelligence, and discretion
- Proven ability to inspire, engage, and unify diverse groups
- Proven experience in strategic leadership within a complex educational environment
- A sound understanding of financial and budgetary requirements, and legal requirements for payment of wages, allowances and salaries to co-curricular team members
- Experience in building and sustaining high-quality programmes in one or more co-curricular domains
- Experience in leading teams, managing compliance, and working across a range of stakeholders.
Desirable:
- Track record in fundraising, partnerships, or public-facing cultural or sporting initiatives
- Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate and/or co-curricular frameworks such as IB CAS, Duke of Edinburgh or similar
- Experience working across K-12 or a multi-campus school.

- Appropriate qualifications
- A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
- A current National Police Check; and
- Full working rights within Australia.
