Part Time Visual Arts Teacher (Maternity Leave Cover)

This position is a temporary part -time position for 12 months maternity leave cover. 

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Creative Arts Faculty, under the supervision of the Head of Creative Arts, to develop and implement programs and maintain the high levels of achievement from our students in the Visual Arts curriculum areas. 

Core Requirements:
Applicants for the position of Visual Arts Teacher must demonstrate at a minimum that they:

• are a committed Christian, who is active in the life of a Reformed Evangelical Church.
• support the College’s vision of holistic Christian education.
• conduct themselves in a manner in keeping with the College ethos and Code of Conduct at all times, modelling Christian maturity to the College community.
• have the ability to teach across Stages 4-6 Syllabi to ensure that the College provides quality education to students.
• have exceptional communication and relational teaching skills.
• have knowledge of relevant compliance requirements in schools.
• holds a valid Working with Children Check in NSW (WWCC).
• are an accredited teacher with at least Conditional Teacher accreditation from NESA.
• work effectively and collaboratively in a Faculty team.

Core Responsibilities:
The Visual Arts Teacher should:

• provide effective and innovative teaching practices for teaching Visual Arts, reflecting the Christian ethos of the College, ensuring a high standard of outcomes for all students.
• manage curriculum requirements for their classes, including programs, registers, assessment, feedback, and reporting.
• manage student issues arising from their classes using the College’s positive behaviour framework and implementing relevant College protocols.
• implement College protocols and strategies.
• provide effective pastoral care to students through leading a regular House Tutor group.
• support cocurricular activities of the College.

Details of Employment:
• This position is responsible directly to the Head of Creative Arts.
• This position is also responsible to the Deputy Principal Senior School and the Principal.
• The normal teaching load is 47 fifty-minute periods per fortnightly cycle, including Sport, plus House Tutor and other duties. This load may be adjusted according to the needs of the timetable.
• Salary will be determined under the conditions of the Independent Schools NSW Teachers (Hybrid Model) Multi Enterprise Agreement 2021 after training and experience has been considered.
• The Visual Arts Teacher position is subject to a Professional Performance Review annually, including twice yearly observations by the Head of Creative Arts.
