Primary Performing and/or Visual Arts Teacher

We, at Belmont Christian College work within a unique and spiritually nurturing environment that combines strong academic and wellbeing foundations with Christian values. Our College is a leading Christian PreK-12 College in the Newcastle region that has experienced growth in recent years with over 900 students.

We invite applications from suitably qualified Primary Performing and/or Visual Arts Teacher to commence in Term 01, 2026 to serve as a full-time teacher. While we prefer full-time profiles, we are open to receive part-time teacher profiles as well.

The successful applicant should:

• Be a committed Christian who is actively involved in their local church
• Be able to provide a quality Christian performing arts education to students in Primary School with a commitment to educational excellence
• Contribute to the cultural life of the College community, particularly in Dance and Drama activities
• Hold a 4-year bachelor’s degree in education (or equivalent), with a knowledge of current and proposed Creative Arts syllabus
• Expect to be part of a God honouring collaborative staff team

Applicants should have the following skills and attributes:

• Training and/or experience in Dance and/or Drama. Experience in organising and facilitating performance opportunities for students
• Actively contribute to planning, programming and assessment of Creative Arts KLAs, especially Dance and Drama
• Excellent communication skills to facilitate learning for large groups of Primary students
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with the Creative and Performing Arts faculty in curriculum and innovative classroom practice
• Experience directing primary school musicals along with an ability to cultivate creativity and a love for dance and drama in primary age students
This is an exciting and challenging position for someone who is passionate about Christian education, adopts a relational approach to their teaching, with demonstrated experience and a willingness to work collaboratively with other teachers, students and parents.
