We are currently seeking a permanent full-time Science Teacher to teach Junior Science and Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics up to HSC level.
What You Will Do
- Write, implement and evaluate teaching programs and Dalton assignments
- Evaluate teaching programs in relation to student progress
- Develop effective examination, testing and reporting procedures
- Use and develop innovative curriculum on the school Learning Management System
- Actively participate in the planning of the curriculum, writing of programs and scope and sequences, writing of resources
- Use formative and summative assessment to determine student progress
- Create a stimulating classroom environment where students can flourish
- Teach within the Dalton Principles, including Responsibility, Independence, Collaboration and Reflection.
What You Will Bring
- A tertiary major in preferably two Science disciplines and accreditation with NESA
- Proven ability to teach and lead Stage 6 Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics
- Keen interest and strong experience in teaching STEM
- Excellent attention to detail, and ability to work to a high standard
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good grooming and personal presentation
- Ability to follow instructions, work unsupervised and be a cooperative team member
- Understanding of and commitment to WHS legislation and risk management principles
- A valid Working with Children Clearance (WWCC) and First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
