Full-time | Reports to Head of Library and Learning Enrichment | Library Hours 7.30 am – 8.30 pm

Role:

The Archdale Library is a dynamic, technology-rich learning hub supporting students in Years 7–12. We are seeking a Library and Information Services Specialist to play a key role in delivering exceptional information services and managing technical operations across our Senior and Junior School libraries.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, resourceful professional who is passionate about creating a welcoming, student-centred environment and supporting teaching and learning through high-quality library services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding service to students and staff, assisting with access to physical and digital resources.
  • Support the use of OPACs and digital platforms.
    Manage circulation processes, including loans, returns, reservations, and overdue procedures.
  • Supervise students during breaks and after school, promoting a respectful and productive environment.
    Provide technical support for printers, copiers, and other library technology.
  • Maintain print and digital subscriptions for both libraries.
    Catalogue and process new resources using the Oliver Library Management System.
  • Assist with acquisitions, accounts payable, and collection maintenance.
  • Promote reading and resources through curated lists, displays, and events.
  • Liaise with IT for technology support and maintain an organised, welcoming library space.

About You

  • Experience with automated library management systems and digital resources. Strong IT and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with the NSW curriculum and adolescent
  • Learning needs.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Flexible, collaborative, and proactive in a dynamic school environment.

Qualifications

  • Eligibility for ALIA professional membership (Associate or Library Technician).
  • Current Working with Children Check (Employee).
  • First Aid, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma certification (or willingness to obtain).
