Role:
The Archdale Library is a dynamic, technology-rich learning hub supporting students in Years 7–12. We are seeking a Library and Information Services Specialist to play a key role in delivering exceptional information services and managing technical operations across our Senior and Junior School libraries.
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, resourceful professional who is passionate about creating a welcoming, student-centred environment and supporting teaching and learning through high-quality library services.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding service to students and staff, assisting with access to physical and digital resources.
- Support the use of OPACs and digital platforms.
Manage circulation processes, including loans, returns, reservations, and overdue procedures. - Supervise students during breaks and after school, promoting a respectful and productive environment.
Provide technical support for printers, copiers, and other library technology. - Maintain print and digital subscriptions for both libraries.
Catalogue and process new resources using the Oliver Library Management System. - Assist with acquisitions, accounts payable, and collection maintenance.
- Promote reading and resources through curated lists, displays, and events.
- Liaise with IT for technology support and maintain an organised, welcoming library space.
About You
- Experience with automated library management systems and digital resources. Strong IT and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with the NSW curriculum and adolescent
- Learning needs.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Flexible, collaborative, and proactive in a dynamic school environment.
Qualifications
- Eligibility for ALIA professional membership (Associate or Library Technician).
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee).
- First Aid, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma certification (or willingness to obtain).
