Role
Abbotsleigh has a wonderful opportunity for an engaging and highly motivated Music teacher to join our dynamic Music department for term 3, as a long-service leave cover. The successful candidate will be an educator who is highly motivated to support Abbotsleigh in maintaining and developing learning and innovation, ensuring continued academic achievement, and inspiring, engaging, and valuing every girl. You will be part of a well-resourced department and a team that is always happy to give you a hand and help guide and support you. The Duties
The successful applicant will demonstrate knowledge, competence, and confidence in;
- Teaching Year 7 music classes (3 classes)
- Teaching Year 8 music classes (2 classes)
- Teaching elective music classes for Year 9 and Year 10
- Direct the Con Brio Trio ensemble
- Assist with the orchestra, including tutorials, roll marking, and troubleshooting during rehearsals
- Participate in choir staff activities
- Accompany the Vocal Ensemble, desirable (not essential)
- Play the piano for assemblies, desirable (not essential)
Qualifications:
- Relevant teaching qualifications and experience in music education
- Proficiency in piano is preferred but not essential
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students
