Cranbrook School is seeking an experienced and energetic Pre-school Educator to join our dynamic Pre-school team.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Based at St Michael’s Pre-School at Vaucluse, this is a part-time (0.6 FTE) position working on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Pre-School Outdoor Educator is responsible for developing and delivering the highest quality Fundamental Movement Program, collaboratively planning with the teaching team and also helping broadly with team building, communication, resources, wellbeing and curriculum and parent engagement.

You are an excellent communicator, creative, and able to work well with students, parents and colleagues. You are committed to continual professional development and reflection, and have a genuine interest in the growth of young people.

SELECTION CRITERIA

—     Certificate III or Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent

—     Demonstrated understanding of best practice in early years education

—     Experience in digital documentation and journals

—     Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills

—     Familiarity with the Education and Care Services National Law, the Education and Care Services National Regulations, National Quality Framework, and the Early Years Learning Framework

—     A level of mobility that supports the ability to respond to a first aid / behavioural incident [for all staff working with children]

—     Strong physical, mental and emotional health to deal with the required demands and responsibilities of the role [for all staff working with children]

—     Current First Aid and CPR qualifications [for all staff working with children]

—     A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children [all job ads]

—     A demonstrated understanding of child safety and appropriate behaviours when engaging with children. [all job ads]

Experience with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme would be advantageous.
