Mathematics Teacher (Stage 5 and 6) – Part-Time (3 Days a week)

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in Mathematics for Years 10, 11 and 12, aligned with curriculum requirements and tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Demonstrate a passion for teaching Mathematics, with a commitment to fostering student growth and achievement.
Provide individualised support to students, particularly those at risk or facing barriers to education, helping them re-engage with learning. - Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages independence, respect, and active participation.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues, support staff, and external agencies to enhance student outcomes and wellbeing. - Support literacy and numeracy development, integrating strategies that meet the varied needs of students.
Contribute to student wellbeing initiatives, offering mentorship and pastoral care as part of a holistic educational approach. - Engage in ongoing professional learning to continuously improve teaching practice and stay current with educational developments.
Selection Criteria:
- Accredited teaching qualifications, with current registration through the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
Demonstrated experience teaching in a secondary school environment. - Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to engage, motivate, and support students in an alternative education setting.
- Experience and/or genuine interest in working with disadvantaged or at-risk youth.
Sound understanding of youth development, trauma-informed practices, and student-centred learning approaches. - Excellent interpersonal skills, including effective communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and organisation.
- Confidence using technology and digital learning tools to enhance teaching and learning.
- Commitment to child safety, including holding a current Working with Children Check and compliance with Child Protection Legislation.
