Primary Class Teacher

Tallowood Steiner School is a growing, independent school, in the beautiful rural setting of Bowraville, NSW.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Primary Class Teacher with skills in supporting students in Class 1, looking to move through future stages with their class.

Students learn through an integrated curriculum embedded in the Australian Steiner Curriculum Main Lessons.

Tallowood teachers are encouraged to work from their strengths, engage collaboratively with their colleagues, and enrich students’ learning through Steiner education.

The successful applicant will have a thorough understanding of child and adolescent development, and the skills to foster healthy and respectful relationships with parents and community.

Essential Criteria:
● Demonstrated ability to creatively and effectively plan, implement and monitor enriching educational programs.
● Demonstrated ability to build and consolidate numeracy and literacy skills in the Primary years.
● Demonstrated ability to meet the needs of a diverse cohort of learners.
● Demonstrated ability to promote and enhance outcomes for Aboriginal students and a commitment to engaging with the local   Aboriginal community.
● A willingness and the interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with children, parents and colleagues.
● Accreditation with NESA and compliance with NSW child protection requirements.
● Current Working With Children Check.

Desirable Criteria
● The skills and willingness to teach creative arts, craft, recorder,  songs and verse.
● Knowledge and enthusiasm for nature-based and outdoor education.
● Training and/or experience teaching the Steiner Curriculum.
