Our Lady of Mercy College is seeking an experienced Student Learning Support Officer (SLSO) to work alongside teachers and students in supporting and enhancing learning outcomes. This full-time role will commence in Term 1, 2026.

The opportunity
The College is seeking a permanent, full-time (term time only) Student Learning Support Officer (SLSO) to commence in Term 1, 2026. This role involves providing direct support to individual students and small groups to ensure they can learn and engage on the same basis as their peers. The position supports students’ academic progress, wellbeing, and social and emotional growth.
What are we looking for?
- Certificate III in School Based Education Support or equivalent experience.
- Commitment to supporting students with disabilities and diverse learning needs.
- Ability to guide students effectively in both group and individual learning activities.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workflow and resolve issues proactively.
- Proven ability to build effective communication with students and staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capacity to work collaboratively and contribute positively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in technology and administrative tasks.
- Understanding of professional boundaries and behaviours that uphold child safeguarding values.
- Current Working With Children Check clearance.
