Our Lady of Mercy College is seeking an experienced Teacher of History and Society & Culture for a dynamic and rewarding full-time, permanent role, commencing Term 1, 2026.

The opportunity
This full-time role is ideal for an experienced History and Society & Culture educator. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to deliver syllabus-aligned lessons and provide timely, constructive feedback that supports student reflection and growth. The primary purpose of this role is to nurture the gifts and talents of each student ensuring that our Catholic practices and Mercy Values underpin all aspects of life in the school.
What are we looking for?
- Tertiary qualifications relevant to teaching History and Society & Culture courses in NSW.
- Proven experience teaching Stages 4-6 Modern History and Stage 6 Society & Culture.
- Demonstrated capacity to critically reflect on and adapt teaching practice to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Ability to foster a supportive and engaging environment that promotes effective student learning.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organisational, administrative, and collaborative skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the teaching needs of the College.
- Commitment to actively supporting and participating in the life of the College, including its Catholic mission and Mercy values.
- Willingness to contribute to the co-curricular life of the College (with no regular weekend sporting commitments).
- Current Working with Children Check clearance.
- Accreditation with NESA.
