The opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our College for a full-time, fixed term Teacher Librarian, to cover a period of leave for Semester 2, 2025 and Semester 1 2026. Being supported by a capable team of Library Technicians and Assistant who are responsible for cataloguing, ordering and processing of Library materials, the Teacher Librarians will focus on teaching and learning.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated and energetic team, in an environment that is a continually evolving to meet the needs of our community and emerging trends in school libraries and education. This role while based in our Secondary School is also part of the College Library team and reports to the Head of Library and Information Services.
There is flexibility in the FTE on offer, with full-time or part-time open for consideration. Part-time applicants may work full days by negotiation.

About you
The successful candidate will be an energetic educator who is driven by the creation of engaging and dynamic learning experiences for our students. You will be required to work collaboratively and independently and be passionate about school libraries and their future.
Candidates must:

• Possess excellent communications skills both written and verbal, as well as excellent time management skills.
• Demonstrate a desire for collaborative working as a member of a high-functioning team, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Possess excellent customer service skills and ability to work with Secondary School staff, students, and their families.
• Participate in pastoral and co-curricular programs, including student wellbeing initiatives, school camps and excursions.

Qualifications in
· Teaching qualification recognised by the ACT Department of Education.
· Maintain registration as a teacher with the Teacher Quality Institute, including WWVP.
· Librarian qualifications (completed or studying) recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association for Associate membership
· Bachelor in Librarianship or Teacher Librarianship (or equivalent) as a minimum qualification (completed or studying).
· Experience with Oliver (LMS) is desirable, but not essential.
